Match Report

The match report turns your recording into a full breakdown of how the game went — the story of the match, the headline numbers, and the detail behind them, all in one place. This article shows you where to find each part of the report and what you can do with it.

Good to know: the match report is in public beta, so we're still adding to it. The numbers are AI-generated to give you a useful read on the game — click any stat to check it against the video and see it for yourself.

Requirements

  • The match report is for football only — it isn't available for trainings
  • The match needs to have been recorded with a Veo Cam 1, 2 or 3 — it isn't available for Veo Go
  • The match report comes in two versions: Basic Match Report, available without Analytics 2, and Advanced Match Report, the full report that comes with Analytics 2
  • Basic Match Report covers matches recorded from 6 October 2026 onwards; Advanced Match Report covers matches with Analytics 2 recorded from 4 August 2026 onwards. Analytics 2 needs to have been active when the match was recorded — it can't be added to older footage afterwards
  • Your recording needs to have finished processing, with its sides confirmed, before the report appears
  • The match report needs a quick one-time setup — you pick the team and the side your team started on — or it won't generate. Set up your match report

Open your match report

  1. In the left menu, open your Library
  2. Find the match you want to review
  3. Click Match Report to open it. If the button says Set up Match Report, the report hasn't been set up yet.

Find your way around

Three controls sit at the top of every tab and change everything below them.

Tabs

The report is split into Overview, Distribution, Attacking, Defending, Physical and Player stats. Each tab focuses on one side of the game.

Team toggle

Switch between your team and the opponent to see the same tab from either side.

Note: opponent stats are still rolling out, so some of them aren't available for the opponent yet.

Period selector

Choose Full recording, 1st period or 2nd period to focus the numbers on one half of the match. Every stat on the page updates to match your choice.

Overview

What decided the match?

A short, plain-language summary of the game's key moments, with the numbers behind each point highlighted. It's AI-generated. Club admins, team admins and editors can also tap the regenerate button — the two arrows — for a fresh take, which updates the insight for everyone on that match. For a deeper breakdown, follow Dive deeper with Coach Assist.

The insight is in English only for now. In the Coach Assist chat, though, you can ask for your answer in another language.

Don't see the insight? Coach Assist is off until an admin turns it on. An admin can enable it in settings — see how to enable or disable Coach Assist chat — and once it's on, it shows up here in the report.

Match highlights

Every goal and shot from the match, clipped straight from the full recording and lined up in the order they happened. You see the selected team's goals and shots — switch the team toggle to see the other side's chances.

Overview MR.gif

Key match stats

The headline numbers for both teams side by side — goals, total attempts, corners, fouls, free kicks, possession, successful passes and pass accuracy. Your team's bar and the opponent's bar sit next to each other so the gaps are easy to spot.

Starting lineup

The starting eleven and the formation they lined up in, plus substitutes and the team captain. Click on a player to open their player card with stats, physical data, and maps for the game. Use Edit to adjust the lineup or formation if anything needs correcting.

Average position

The average pitch position of each player across the match. Hover over a player to see their heatmap. Read it as a picture of your team's shape rather than a verdict on any one player.

Distribution

The Distribution tab is about passing — how much of it you did, how well it connected, and where it happened.

What stood out?

A short summary of the passing picture, with the standout numbers highlighted.

Passing stat cards

Successful passes, successful forward passes, average pass string length and final third passes. Click a card to watch the passes it counts, straight from the recording.

Passing overview

  • Pass location — where on the pitch your successful passes happened, split into zones
  • Pass strings — how long you kept passing sequences alive
  • Pass direction — how much you played forward, sideways and backwards

Passing network

The player-to-player links that mattered most, drawn on the pitch. Pick a player from the list to focus on their connections, or view the whole team at once.

Use the zones dropdown in the top right to choose how the pitch is split behind the network — Without zones, Thirds, 3 lanes, 9 zones, Phases, Quarters, 5 lanes, 18 zones or Advanced. Pick the layout that matches how you think about the pitch. You'll find the same dropdown on the Shot map and Defensive actions maps, so you can set it up your way there too.

Attacking

The Attacking tab covers your chances — how many you created, where they came from, and how many you took.

What stood out?

A short summary of your attacking play, with the key numbers highlighted.

Attacking Match Report.jpg

Attacking stat cards

Goals, assists, shots inside the box and successful dribbles. Click a card to watch those moments from the recording.

Defensive actions

A map of where you won the ball back and broke up play. Switch between Tackles, Interceptions, Recoveries, Duels, Fouls and Fouls won, and pick a team or a single player to focus the map. Use the zones dropdown in the top right to choose how the pitch is split, the same way you can on the passing network.

Physical

Distance tracked, high-intensity runs, sprint count and top speed.

What stood out?

A short summary of the physical output, with the key numbers highlighted.

Speed zones

How intensity was spread across the match, split into walk/jog, run and sprint, and broken down into 15-minute blocks from kick-off to full time. For now this is shown at team level — a player-by-player breakdown isn't available yet.

Player stats

The Player stats table brings every player's numbers together in one view — minutes, goals, assists, attempts, passes, dribbles, recoveries and more. Use Edit columns to choose which stats you want to see, and sort by any column to rank your players.

Because the stats are AI-generated, an action can sometimes be linked to the wrong player. Use the player table and average positions as a read on your team's shape rather than a final verdict on an individual.

Watch the moments behind the numbers

Most stat cards and maps link straight to the video. Click a stat to open its clips, then step through them one by one, or use Full recording to open the moment in the full match. Every number in the report is tied to something you can watch.

If an event looks wrong or missing

The match report sits in front of the editor — it doesn't replace it. If an event is missing or wrong, you can fix it manually in the editor. Once you refresh the page, the match report updates with your changes. Learn how to edit events. Physical data — distance, speed and intensity — is measured automatically and can't be changed.

FAQs

Why can't I see the match report?

The usual reasons are the match type, the recording still processing, a locked recording, or the setup not being done yet — contributors don't see the button until a coach or admin sets it up. For how to work through each one, see Why isn't the Match Report button showing?

Can I see the stats for just one half?

Yes. Use the period selector at the top of any tab to switch between Full recording, 1st period and 2nd period. Every stat on the page updates to match.

Can I see the opponent's stats too?

Use the team toggle at the top of any tab to switch between your team and the opponent. Opponent stats are still rolling out, though, so some of them aren't available for the opponent yet. If one's missing, that's expected for now, not a bug.

Why don't I see the Coach Assist insight?

Coach Assist is off until an admin turns it on. Once an admin enables Coach Assist chat in settings, the insight shows up in the report. The insight is in English only for now, but in the Coach Assist chat you can ask for your answer in another language.

An event looks wrong or is missing. Can I fix it?

Yes. Fix the event manually in the editor, then refresh the page — the match report updates with your changes. Physical data (distance, speed and intensity) is measured automatically and can't be edited.

Can I share or export the report?

Not yet. Sharing and exporting aren't part of the match report at the moment.

Why are parts of my report locked?

Locked sections mean you're on the Basic Match Report. The Advanced Match Report — the full report, with Analytics 2 — unlocks player-level data and every visualisation. You can try Analytics 2 free for 30 days.

A shot is missing from the shot map. Where is it?

If a shot has no recorded location, it can't be placed on the pitch, so it's listed below the shot map instead. Add a location to that shot in the recording and it'll show up on the map.

The lineup or formation looks wrong. Can I fix it?

Yes. On the Overview tab, use Edit on the Starting lineup to adjust the players or formation.
