How to add, edit and filter Match Events

The Events section in the right-hand menu of any recording (the bullet-list icon) shows all AI-detected match events in chronological order, timestamped from kick-off. You can add events manually, edit their type, team, player and location, filter them, and create clips directly from the list.

Requirements

  • Only available for soccer/football recordings
  • You must be a team Editor or team admin to add or edit match events
  • Editing the shot map location requires a Veo Analytics 2 subscription

Add an Event manually

Method 1: quick create

  1. When you spot a moment in the recording worth marking, click the + icon in the side menu, then select New event

  2. In the What happened? selector, choose the event type — Goal, Corner, Free kick, Goal kick, Penalty kick, Shot, Kickoff, Throw-in, Foul, Tackle, Duel or DribbleThe event is created instantly and a confirmation message appears

Tip: Use the -1 sec / +1 sec buttons in the event type selector to fine-tune the timestamp before confirming.

Method 2: Events menu

  1. Open the Events panel from the side menu

  2. Click New event and choose the event type, the same way as in the quick create flow

Edit an Event

Click any event in the list to reveal three actions: create a clip, delete the event, or open it

Opening an event shows who created it — a player, a team member, or Veo AI — along with a Stats button and controls to edit the event

  • Change the event type using the type dropdown (for example, switching Throw-in to Foul)
  • Click the team badge to change team
  • Click the jersey icon to remove jersey or reassign the event to a different player
  • Use the arrows to move to the previous or next event, or the refresh icon to reset the clip position

If you use Veo Analytics, you can also assign a specific location on the shot map for the event under Location

Note: Manually placing a location updates the shot map shown in the Analytics 2.0 panel for that event.

Filter Events

  1. Click the Filters icon in the top-right of the Events panel
  2. Choose one or more custom filters — Event types, Teams, Players, Created by, or Match periods
  3. Click Apply filters to update the events list

Note: Events (not clips) control match data for all videos uploaded after the release of Match Events. For older videos, clips still apply.
