Before Veo can build your match report, it needs to know which team the recording is for and which side that team started on. This quick setup takes a few seconds and makes sure every stat and every event on the pitch is mapped to the right team.
Good to know: the match report is in public beta, so we're still adding to it.
Before you start
- The match report is for football only — it isn't available for trainings
- The match needs to have been recorded with a Veo Cam 1, 2 or 3 — it isn't available for Veo Go
- Every team member can open the match report. It comes in two versions: Basic Match Report, available without Analytics 2, and Advanced Match Report, the full report with Analytics 2
- Basic Match Report covers matches recorded from 6 October 2026 onwards; Advanced Match Report covers matches with Analytics 2 recorded from 4 August 2026 onwards. Analytics 2 needs to have been active when the match was recorded — it can't be added to older footage afterwards
- Your recording needs to have finished processing before you can set it up
Open the setup
- In the left menu, open your Library
- Find the match you want a report for
- Click Set up Match Report on that match
Step 1 — select your team
Choose which team the recording is for, so the report is created for the right side. If you have several teams, they all show here, and you pick one.
Note: this step only appears when Veo needs it. If your team is already clear from the recording, you go straight to the next step.
Step 2 — choose the side your team started on
From the camera view, select the side your team started on in the first period. The first-period kickoff plays in the video below to help you check. Pick Left or Right.
You only set the first period — Veo works out the rest. If your team started on the left, it assumes you switched to the right for the second period, and it keeps alternating for extra periods, so a four-period match would be left, left, right, right. If that doesn't match how the game actually went, you can change it later in Match settings.
You can also confirm sides and add periods from the recording settings — handy if the match had more than two periods, like four. How to confirm sides and periods.
Generate the report
Once your team and starting side are set, click Generate Match Report. Veo builds the report and the match now shows a Match Report button in your Library whenever you want to open it. See what's in your match report.
Change your setup later
Nothing is locked in — the setup can be reviewed and changed at any time in Match settings, and the stats reload once it's saved. The same place lets you adjust periods, match tactics, match type and jersey colours.
Who can do this: club and team admins can assign the team; club admins, team admins and editors can confirm sides, add periods and change match settings. Contributors can open and read reports, but can't set them up — if a match isn't set up yet, a contributor won't see the Set up Match Report button. Why isn't the button showing?
FAQs
The setup tells Veo which team the report is for and which way that team was playing, so stats and pitch events are mapped to the correct side. Without it, the report can't be built.
No. You only pick the side your team started on in the first period. Veo assumes you switch sides each period after that — so a four-period match runs left, left, right, right. You can adjust it in Match settings if a period doesn't match.
Club and team admins can assign the team, and club admins, team admins and editors can confirm sides, add periods and change match settings. Contributors can open and read any report, but can't set one up. Everyone can still view the finished report.
Yes. Open Match settings and update the team and sides there. You don't have to start the setup from scratch.
The team step only shows when Veo needs it. If your team is already clear from the recording, you go straight to choosing the starting side.
As well as team and sides, you can adjust periods, match tactics, match type and jersey colours.
