Setting up Veo Go is simple and fast. This guide shows you how to capture the action using just two iPhones, from assembling your gear to starting your first recording.
Requirements
- Two compatible iPhones with the Veo Go app installed (Veo Go: Supported iPhones & compatibility guide)
- An active Veo Go subscription on at least one device
- A Veo Go phone rig and a portable tripod
- Internet access on at least one device to initiate the recording
Recording checklist (Pre-match day)
Get these essentials ready before you head to the pitch to ensure a smooth setup:
- Tripod & rig: Confirm you have both the tripod and the Veo Go phone rig
- Veo Go app: Install the app on both iPhones and log in to your Clubhouse account on the primary device
- Storage & battery: Ensure both phones have enough storage space and are fully charged
Note: Only one device needs a subscription and internet access; the second device can join the recording as a guest.
Recording guide (Match day)
Step 1: Assemble the tripod and rig
- Unfold and fully extend the tripod legs on a level surface
- Use the provided water bag to stabilize the tripod and prevent it from tipping
- Securely attach the Veo Go phone rig to the tripod by rotating it until it's tight
- Position the tripod 2-3 meters behind the pitch centerline, ensuring the rig is straight and facing the middle of the field
- Avoid placing the tripod behind fences, nets, or other obstacles that might block the view
Tip: For more detailed assembly instructions, check out: All about the portable tripod for Veo Go.
Step 2: Prepare and mount cameras
Before mounting, wipe your camera lenses clean to ensure the best video quality.
- Open the Veo Go App on the primary phone (the one logged into Clubhouse)
-
Tap +
-
Press Start Recording
-
If prompted, allow the app to access your camera, microphone, and local network
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to prepare your tripod. Once ready, tap Tripod ready
-
Select the Team you are recording for. If you don't have a team yet, tap Create Team and enter a name
-
A QR code will appear on the screen
- On the second phone, open the camera app and scan the QR code, or open the Veo Go App and select Scan QR
-
Tap Join Recording to link the two devices
- Attach both phones to the rig using the provided rubber bands to fasten them securely
Step 3: Start recording
-
Once both phones are connected and mounted, set the recording timer
Note: If you don't see the "Start Recording" option at 00:00, the phones may have lost connection. The option will reappear once the connection is re-established.
- Raise the tripod to its maximum height
- The recording starts automatically when the timer reaches zero
Warning: Don't move the tripod once the recording has started. Movement can interfere with the AI processing.
Step 4: End recording
- When the match is over, carefully lower the tripod
- Tap End on either phone and confirm your choice
Note: A yellow triangle on either phone indicates a recording error. If this happens, lower the tripod, end the session, and start a new recording. See our guide on preventing interruptions for tips.
Final steps
Great job! Now that you've finished, it's time to upload your footage. Tap Upload on both phones so our AI can process your highlights.
Once the upload is finished, tap Done.
