This article explains the two privacy settings in your Clubhouse on the web: Clubhouse visibility, which controls who can find your Clubhouse, and recording privacy, which controls who can watch your recordings. You'll also learn how to change the privacy of a single recording, and what happens when you share one.

These two settings are often confused. They control different things, and changing one does not change the other.

How to access your privacy settings
- Log in to your Veo account at app.veo.co
- If you belong to more than one Clubhouse, make sure you're working in the correct Clubhouse
- From the left-side panel, select Settings
- Go to the Privacy section
- Manage the privacy levels for your recordings and your Clubhouse
Clubhouse visibility
Clubhouse visibility decides whether people who are not members can find your Clubhouse, and who can watch your livestreams.
- Public: your Clubhouse may appear in search results. People can find it on the web or in the Veo app
- Unlisted: your Clubhouse won't appear in search results, but non-members can open it with a shared link; for example one sent by email or WhatsApp
- Private: your Clubhouse won't appear in search results and cannot be opened by non-members with a shared link
Note: Finding your Clubhouse is not the same as being able to watch its content. Clubhouse visibility also controls who can watch your livestreams, but it does not control who can watch your recordings — that is recording privacy, below.
Default recording privacy
This sets the privacy that new recordings get automatically. You can still change any individual recording afterwards.
- Public: on the web, anyone with a link can watch the recording, whether or not they are in your Clubhouse
- Private: only Club and team admins and members can watch the recording
Changing the default only affects new recordings. Nothing you have already recorded changes privacy on its own — to change an existing recording, change it individually.
Note: Recording privacy applies on the web. In the Veo app, recordings are always treated as private — available to members only, whether you set the recording to Public or Private. Setting a recording to Public does not make it available to followers or to anyone outside your Clubhouse in the app.
How to change the privacy of a single recording
- Open the recording at app.veo.co
- Select the gear icon next to the recording's title
- Open the Settings tab, then select Privacy
- Choose Public or Private

Sharing a recording
There are two ways to share a recording, and they behave differently.
- A link only gives access if the recording is Public. If the recording is Private, sharing its link doesn't grant access — it won't work for anyone who isn't a team member or Club admin
- Share with Opponent doesn't need the recording to be public. A private recording can be shared this way. It sends a copy into the opposing team's Clubhouse, where they can watch and download it, but they can't set it to public or share it more widely. Your manual clips, comments and tags don't go with it, and you can revoke access at any time. See How to use the Share with Opponent feature in Veo
Note: Setting a recording to Private also changes the privacy of all shared copies of it.
