How to mention a teammate in a clip
Mentioning a teammate in the description of a new clip or in the comment of an existing one is a great way to draw attention to a specific moment as soon as it is created.
In a description:
- Open the recording you want to analyze in the Veo Editor
- Start creating a new clip
- Select a clip tag to make the description field available
In the description field, type the @ symbol followed by the teammate's name
- Select the correct person from the drop-down list
- Save the clip to notify the mentioned user by clicking on Create clip
Warning: If you mention someone who does not have access to the clip due to visibility settings, we will notify you. If you save without adjusting visibility, the person will not be notified and cannot see the mention
In a comment:
Use comments to start a conversation on an existing clip or to reply to feedback.
- Open an existing clip in the Veo Editor
Go to the Comments section in the clip panel
Type your message and use the @ symbol followed by the name of the teammate
- Select the person from the list and press Send to post
Note: Only people you explicitly @mentioned in a comment are notified. This includes the clip creator, who is not notified automatically unless tagged!
Mentions versus Tagging players
It is important to understand the difference between mentioning a user and tagging an "Involved player" in a clip.
- Mentions (@): Used to notify a specific person and start a conversation.
It can be used regardless of the user’s role on the team (coach, player, other) - Tagging (Involved players): Used to mark which players are physically in the clip for filtering purposes
- Mentioning a player in the description does not automatically add them as an Involved player
- You can filter the clip list by Involved players, but you cannot currently filter by who was mentioned in a description
How you know you have been mentioned
When someone mentions you, stay informed through these channels:
An email notification with a direct link to the clip where you were mentioned in the description or comments
- The dedicated Mentions page in your Clubhouse
Notes:
- If you mention yourself, you will not receive an email notification, but you will still find the clip on your Mentions page
- If you open a clip from an email link, you may be asked to log in to your account first
- You can comment directly on the clip page
- You can share a clip link directly from the Editor page, the clip page, or the Mentions page.
Others can only view it if their permissions and the clip's visibility allow access
Managing your mentions
You can track all conversations you are involved in through the dedicated Mentions page.
Navigate to the @ Mentions page in your Clubhouse
- Review the list where you have been mentioned in a description, comment, or tagged as an involved player
- Comment directly from the Mentions page.
Make sure to mention other teammates with a @ if you want them to be notified of your comment Use the filters to organize the list by Team, who tagged/mentioned you, or the date when the tag/mention was created. You can also search for any specific text written in the description/comment
Tip: Encourage your Athletes to check their Mentions page regularly and reply to comments to ensure they have understood coaching feedback
Visibility settings
When a clip is created, you can choose who is allowed to view it.
- Public: Visible to anyone with a link to the recording, including those outside the Club or Team
- Restricted: Limits viewing to specific groups
- Hidden: Visible only to you who created the clip
Under Restricted visibility, Athletes and other roles can choose:
- Team Members
- Players tagged in the clip
- Coaches only
- These clips are only visible to the creator and the Coaches in the Clubhouse
- Coaches are not proactively notified when a Coaches-only clip is created
- If you want to notify a specific Coach, you need to mention them in the description or the comments
Note: Ensure the people you want to see the clip, for example, a teammate from a different team, have access to the recording itself.
FAQs
Ensure the person is a member of your Clubhouse and has accepted their team invitation. Clubhouse admins cannot be mentioned unless they are part of the same team as you. Also, confirm they have access to the clip itself.
If you are part of multiple Clubhouses, ensure you have selected the correct one. Try refreshing the page. If a mention or the clip itself was deleted, or if the clip visibility changed to "Only me," it will no longer appear in your list.
This usually happens if your access permissions for the clip or the recording have changed since the mention was sent. Contact your Coach or Team Admin to verify your access to the recording.
Comments are visible to anyone who has permission to view the clip. However, only those who are explicitly @mentioned will receive a direct notification.
If you remove a mention or delete the comment, it will no longer appear on that person's Mentions page. If the user has already received an email notification, the link may still work if they have recording access, but the mention itself will be gone from the platform.
Mentions notify people, but they do not control privacy. Privacy is managed through clip visibility and recording access. To ensure a conversation stays private, set the appropriate clip visibility settings (e.g., Coaches only).
Yes. A Veo Clubhouse can be accessed via your mobile browser, and the experience is fully optimized for smartphone screens.
Currently, there is no read/unread status. New mentions always appear at the top of your list. Use the filters and search function to focus on the specific conversations you need to address.
