Learn how to use Veo’s drawing tools to visually enhance your recordings. This feature allows coaches to illustrate tactics, highlight key moments, and deliver more impactful feedback, either live during video playback or saved as part of a clip.
Requirements:
- Available on tablet-size screens and larger
- Only supported in Follow-Cam mode (not available in Interactive Mode)
Use the drawing tool without saving a clip
You can draw on your video for live feedback without saving the edits as a clip. This is great for quick tactical discussions.
- Click the Add drawing icon in the bottom-left corner of the video player.

Select from various drawing options like:
- Colors
- Arrows
- Shapes
- Magnify
- Spotlight
- Freehand drawing
- Text
You can also undo, redo, or clear all drawings.
- When finished, click the “X” to close the tool and resume playback.
Note: Drawing without saving is only available on tablet-sized screens and larger.
Use the drawing tool and save your drawing as a clip
You can also save your drawing as part of a clip to reference later or share with your team.
- Click the Add drawing icon in the bottom-left corner.
- Create your drawing.

Click + (Create clip). Then:
- Select a tag
- Choose a team
- Optionally, leave a comment
- Set clip visibility
- Save your clip
Please note: Drawing tools are only available in Follow-Cam mode. Drawings cannot be created in Interactive Mode.
Where you can see drawings saved in a clip
When you save a drawing as part of a clip, the drawing is shown wherever that clip is played. Your players don't need to open the Veo Editor to see what you've drawn.
- Veo Editor: open the clip from the Clips list
- Clip page: the dedicated page each clip has, showing the clip, its description, and all comments and mentions in one place. It opens from the Mentions page, a notification email, or a shared clip link
- Mentions page: the @ Mentions page in your Clubhouse, where people see the clips they've been mentioned in
To share a clip with your drawing, click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the clip in the Clips list and select Copy Link. The person you share it with can only open the clip page if they have access to the clip.
Tip: Mention a player with @ in the clip description to send them a notification. They can then watch the clip with your drawing directly from their Mentions page. Learn how to collaborate with your team using Mentions
Note: Drawings are not included in downloaded clips. If you export a video, the drawings will not be visible in the downloaded file.
FAQs
Yes. Drawings saved in a clip are shown on the clip page and on the Mentions page, as well as in the Veo Editor. Players can see them as long as they have access to the clip.
Check that the drawing was saved as part of a clip. Drawings made without creating a clip are not saved, so they don't appear anywhere else. Also check the clip visibility settings and that the player has access to the recording.
Only if the clip visibility is set to Public. The clip page has the same visibility as the clip, so you can't make the clip page public on its own. It's currently not possible to share a private clip with someone outside the team. You can download the clip and share the file instead, but drawings are not included in downloaded clips.
No. Drawings are only visible when the clip is played in Veo. They are not included in downloaded or exported files.
