This guide helps you optimize your Veo Cam's internet connection for high-quality, reliable live streams. Learn how to choose the best connectivity methods, select the right data provider, and troubleshoot sudden stream disconnections.
Requirements
- An active Veo Live subscription
- Veo Cam 2 or Veo Cam 3 (5G version recommended for SIM use)
- Access to app.veo.co (Club Admin access for diagnostics)
1. Choose the most reliable connectivity method
Your connection strength depends on your location, time of day, and network traffic. Because the Veo Cam uploads high-definition data, your upload speed is the most important factor—often more so than what your smartphone's signal bars indicate.
| Connection Type | Stability Level | Risk of Disconnection |
|---|---|---|
| SIM card (Veo Cam 2 & Veo Cam 3 5G) | Best | Low |
| Ethernet | Excellent | Low |
| WiFi | Average | High |
| Smartphone hotspot | Poor | Very High |
SIM card (Highly recommended)
Using a physical, data-only SIM card is the most reliable method. Our data shows this provides the most consistent experience for Veo users worldwide.
Ethernet (Recommended)
A wired connection via a USB-C to Ethernet adapter is incredibly stable. This is a great option if your venue has accessible internet ports, though it can be harder to set up at outdoor or away games.
WiFi (Use with caution)
WiFi works well indoors near a router. However, signal interference in outdoor or crowded environments often leads to unstable streams.
Smartphone hotspot (Not recommended)
While convenient, hotspots are 4× more likely to drop compared to a dedicated SIM connection. We recommend avoiding this method for important matches.
Note: When choosing a SIM, ensure it is a dedicated data SIM. Standard smartphone SIMs often have restrictions that can interfere with the camera's performance.
2. Select the right data provider
Network performance varies by location. A provider that is fast at your home field might struggle at an away venue. Always ensure your data plan has enough capacity for the match.

Data requirements
Streaming a standard 110-minute match requires approximately 7GB of upload data. Make sure your plan can handle this to avoid mid-game cutoffs.
3. Manage sudden livestream disconnections
If your livestream suddenly stops, it may be due to a connection drop or a manual action by the camera operator. Here is how the Veo system handles these interruptions:
- The 5-minute reconnection window: If a stream drops, the Veo Cam will try to reconnect for 5 minutes. If successful, the original stream continues.
- New stream after 5 minutes: If the interruption lasts longer than 5 minutes, any restart will be treated as a brand-new livestream. This means followers will receive a new notification and a new sharing link will be generated.
Reporting issues
If you experience persistent issues, please report them to us. While viewing the video player, click the (!) icon to use the "Report Issue" function.
4. Use Stream Diagnostics to evaluate quality
Reviewing your connection data after a match helps you identify why a stream might have struggled and how to improve your setup.
- Go to app.veo.co
- Click on Veo Live
- Select Stream Diagnostics (Club Admin access required)
What to look for:
- Good quality: Upload speeds consistently above 5 Mbps with zero connection losses.
- Poor quality: Fluctuating speeds below 5 Mbps or frequent connection drops.
Note: If your diagnostics show poor performance, we recommend switching to a more stable connectivity method or testing a different data provider.
