Player Stats in Analytics Studio lets coaches and analysts review individual performance data across multiple matches, all in one place. Explore leaderboards, a sortable stats table, shot maps, position heat maps, and side-by-side player comparisons.
Requirements
- An active Analytics 2 subscription
- Data available only for recordings made after purchasing the add-on
- Roster and lineup set up for accurate player attribution (see Setting up your formation and lineup)
How to access player stats
- Log in to your account at app.veo.co, and make sure you are in the right Clubhouse, if you're part of more than one
- On the left side panel, go to Analytics Studio
- Go to the Player Stats tab (alongside Team Stats)
- Use the filters at the top to choose which recordings to analyze — for example, Last 10 recordings, Only with Analytics, a specific match type, formation, or specific recordings.
Make sure your lineup is complete
Player Stats can only attribute data correctly when Veo knows who played in each match. If any of your selected matches is missing a lineup, a banner appears above the leaderboards listing those matches, each tagged lineup incomplete.
- Open Player Stats and look for the banner listing matches with an incomplete lineup
- Select Hide matches or the arrow to expand or collapse the list
- Find the match you want to fix and select Open match
- Add the missing players to the lineup and save your changes
Note: If your lineup is not complete, follow the Setting up your formation and lineup before returning to Player Stats.
Note: Once a match's lineup is complete, its data is automatically included in your Player Stats, leaderboards, and comparisons — no further action needed
Explore the leaderboard
The leaderboard shows the top performers for key metrics across your selected matches. By default, it displays the top 5 players per metric, including rank, player name, and value. Both event metrics (goals, assists, shots) and physical metrics (top speed) are included where available.
Select Edit metrics to choose up to 3 metrics to display as leaderboards, then select Apply to update the view.
View a player's focus card
Select any player on the leaderboard to open their focus card — a quick snapshot of that player's key stats for the selected matches. It's a fast way to get more detail without leaving the leaderboard view.
The card includes the player's info, key stats, physical data, and maps.
Use the stats table
The stats table shows one row per player across all selected matches. Sort by any column, and scroll horizontally to see all metrics. Coaches can also choose which columns are visible.
Note: Players whose jersey hasn't been mapped to a name yet appear as "Jersey #X". They're always included in the table, so no data is ever lost. To fix this, update your roster or lineup — see Setting up your formation and lineup
You can customize the table and choose which data to display in your columns for each team. Use Edit columns to display the information you want — columns are sorted left to right in the order you select them.
View the shot map
The shot map shows where a selected player's shots and goals were taken from on the pitch. You can toggle between total attempts, shots, and goals.
Select any shot marker on the pitch to open a preview of that moment. Select the icon in the top-left corner of the preview to open the full recording.
Note: Selecting a shot marker only opens a preview; it does not create a clip.
View the position heat map
The position heat map shows a player's average field coverage across your selected matches as a density overlay. Select a different player to update the heat map instantly.
Compare two players
The player comparison view lets you place two players side by side using the same metrics as the stats table. Each side can be changed independently, making it easy to evaluate similar positions or track progress over time.
FAQs
Player Stats is available to Analytics 2 subscribers only. If you're on a base plan, the Player Stats tab appears disabled. Visit your plan settings to upgrade
This happens when a jersey is detected but not yet mapped to a player in the roster or lineup. These players stay included in the table, so no data is lost
Physical stats (distance, speed, sprints) are AI-generated and can't be manually edited. If a value seems significantly off, you can flag it. Event stats reflect AI detection plus any edits made in the Veo Editor
