How to set up a custom APN for your Veo Cam

If your Veo Cam recognizes your SIM card but still can't get online, your data provider may need to set up a custom APN for your camera. This article walks you through finding your IMEI number, requesting the APN from your provider, and entering it in the Veo Camera app.

  • A custom APN only helps if your camera already recognizes your SIM card and provider, but still shows no signal or no connection
  • Your SIM card must be data-only, correctly inserted, and confirmed to work in another device
  • Your provider should be one of the Data providers and SIM cards for the Veo Cam

If your camera shows "No SIM installed" or doesn't recognize the SIM at all, a custom APN won't fix that. Check the how to confirm your SIM card connection guide first.

Follow these steps to set up a custom APN for your Veo Cam.

FAQs

What if the custom APN doesn't fix the connection?

Double-check the APN, username, and password against exactly what your provider sent you. If the connection still doesn't improve, contact our support team so we can take a closer look.

Do I need a custom APN for every provider?

No. Most providers work with the camera's default settings. A custom APN is only needed when your camera recognizes the SIM and provider but can't get a working data connection.

Does the APN have to be specific to my camera?

Not always. Some providers create an APN tied to your camera's IMEI, while others may point you to a generic APN they already have available. Ask your provider directly what they recommend for your account.
