About Events in Veo Editor
Events represent the key actions that happen during a football match, such as goals, shots, corners, penalty kicks, free kicks, and throw-ins. These are automatically detected by Veo AI to make match navigation, editing, and performance analysis faster and easier.
You can also manually add or edit events to ensure your match data is accurate and complete. Each event can be filtered by type, team, player, or match period.
How Events improve your workflow
- Faster navigation: Jump directly to key match moments without searching through full recordings.
- Player tracking: Assign players to specific events to keep an accurate record of performance and contributions.
- Better data organization: Use events for analytics and match data, and keep clips for sharing and coaching.
Assigning players to events
Each event can be linked to a player involved in the action — for example, the goal scorer or shooter. This helps generate detailed player stats and insights in Veo Analytics.
Integration with Veo Analytics
Events are directly connected to Veo Analytics. Analytics users can view event data on the shot map and adjust the shot location by dragging it to the correct position.
Assigning players to events also helps populate the Player Stats section in the Analytics Studio.
Relationship between clips and events
Events now power your match data, while clips are used for coaching and sharing. Creating or editing clips doesn’t affect your analytics data. Veo automatically generates clips for shots and goals to help you get started.
For older videos uploaded before Match Events were introduced, you’ll still manage match data through clips. Newer recordings use events instead.
