Learn the key differences between the two recording modes available on the Veo Cam: broadcast view and tactical view, and how each can support your performance analysis.

Recording modes available on Veo Cam

The Veo Cam can record in two distinct modes: broadcast view and tactical view.

Your Veo Cam is set to broadcast view by default. However, a tactical view is also available to provide an alternative perspective better suited for team analysis.

What’s the difference between broadcast and tactical view?

Both modes follow the ball automatically throughout the match, but they differ in how they frame the action:

  • Broadcast view: This mode zooms in and out based on the action on the field. It mimics a TV broadcast by zooming in on specific players or key plays to provide a more immersive viewing experience.

  • Tactical view: This mode consistently takes a wide-angle shot of the field while following the ball, allowing you to see player positioning and movement across the pitch. It’s ideal for coaches and analysts who focus on team structure and strategy.

Can I change the recording mode myself?

No, users cannot switch recording modes on their own. If you'd like to change the default recording mode for your Veo Cam, please contact our support team, and we’ll help you adjust it.

Important clarification: Recording views vs. viewing modes

Keep in mind that broadcast view and tactical view refer to how the Veo Cam records the match.

These are different from follow-cam view and interactive player view, which are options for watching your footage after it’s uploaded to the Veo platform.
